Words with Brushes

The following two pictures are what I managed to create using only Photoshop Brushes and obviously text. The Brushes coincide with the words.

^^ "Believe" ^^
^^ "Fly Away" ^^

Brushes downloaded from http://www.myphotoshopbrushes.com/

doodle for google!

This project involved doing a doodle within the words of Google. This is actually a contest they have going on and display some on their websites. This ones mine and the theme is Valentines Day.

HDR Photography

HDR Photography:
Having an image look amazingly realistic

Light Painting!

These images were created by writing whatever words or movements with a flashlight or glowstick. Then using the camera and set it to have a long shutter speed (these were either 6 or 10 seconds long) and take the picture.

Watermark :)

Purpose of a watermark?
To protect your images from being copied and used without permission.

Vintage Photography

Vintage Photograph of very lonely road that I have to go by everyday. Making it look vintage makes it look very creepy, though.

Photoshop Tools Used:
Noise, Blur, Black and White, and gradient map

Spring Break Scrapbook Page

What did I do for Spring break 2011?
I stayed home, but spent most of my time outside and where I live, it's surrounded by trees and flowers, so it's really beautiful.

Tools Used:
Text, brushes, free transform, rectangular marquee, and text.

Color Splash

I actually enjoy color splash a lot and I do it constantly. It's when the whole image is in black and white with something left in color, usually matching if its multiple items. It's to attract your attention to one object in the photograph.

Tools Used in Photoshop: Brush, Black & White adjustment layer, Layer mask, and Lens Correction filter.

Physics is Photography

Physics Concept: Melting

This picture of an ice cube demonstrates the physics concept of melting. Melting is the change in state of a substance from a solid to a liquid. In order for a solid to melt, there needs to be some sort of consumption of energy in the form of heat. Two different ways that heat goes into the water molecules include heat in matter and radiation. Heat can be present in a random manner that can include red hot metal, hot water or hot air. The transfer of heat is to other bodies and objects happen by contact. For this kind of heat transfer the contact area is decisive as in the amount of heat transferred in a certain time is directly proportional to the contact area. An example of radiation, the second way heat goes into water molecules, is sun radiation. Sun radiation warms up the air and therefore passes the heat through contact with the air. These are the two ways that heat is transferred in order for an ice cube to melt.

Two were taken and printed because I was unable to choose which one looked best.

Downtown Mall :)

Three pictures that were taken at the downtown mall and edited :

The Nook!

The Nook is a restaurant downtown that has some really good food :) We had to design a poster for a business, so here's mine.

We also had to do a t-shirt design, and I did the same business again :)

Type Self Portrait! :)

"A picture worth 1,000 words"
I remember I tried to do this last semester, but it was a much harder process. This, however, was much easier. It was inspired by the 2009 Grammy posters, which were pretty cool. And I did two versions: a black & white one and a colorful one.
Photoshop Tools Used:
Defined brush presets, Color range, Brush tool, Type tool, Layer mask, Gradient overlays, etc.

Jerry Uelsmann Style :)

Okay, so Jerry Uelsmann is this really awesome film photographer that combines the pictures he has taken into one. The way he does this is by hiding the light and blending the different pictures together. I find his work really great and it looks photoshop-ed, but it's all just film photography.
^^This is one of Uelsmann's works^^

^^&& this is what my replication turned out to be^^

Well, I think it came out pretty good.

Tools Used for replication: Layer mask, Perspective tool, burn tool and a black & white adjustment layer
